The last FiL With Sound! (For now?)

Yes, it’s true. I’ve decided to put an end to FiL With Sound. So this was my Second Anniversary/Final Show/Birthday Tribute to Pete Seeger. Pete turned 90 a few days ago, and I spent an hour playing songs from, for, and popularized by one of the titans of American folk music.

The HearNewBrunswick studios are currently in limbo, so I did my show from NPN Studios in Clifton, NJ.

Technical note: I screwed up the beginning of the show, so the podcast starts midway into the first song.

This week on FiL With Sound, I spent some time talking with two of the Rutgers students who are organizing this year’s New Jersey Folk Festival, which takes place this Saturday (4/25) on Rutgers’ Douglass Campus. The rest of the show was heavy on new and newsih music.

Despite a mini-vacation at the end of last week, I’ve managed to put together a fine mix of old and new music for you. I played songs from the bands I saw this weekend (Winterpills, the Sacred Shakers), new music from Ferraby Lionheart and A Camp, and a Star Maker Machine set of songs about bodies of water. I also dipped back into the Dark Was the Night compilation.
